The ADRC is committed to a multidisciplinary, science-driven approach to improving our understanding and treatment of anxiety and depression.
We investigate cognitive, behavioral and biological risk factors and correlates of anxiety and depression, from which we develop and evaluate augmented and novel treatments, their mediators, and mechanisms of action.
Further, we are committed to the dissemination and implementation of the findings of our research into clinical practice settings. To this end, we provide therapy, workshops, manuals and scientific publications for educational and training purposes.
Our science-driven approach is embedded within an overarching framework that values:
Freedom of science
Universal right to have access to mental health care
Equity and rights for all people, inclusive of any race, colour, creed, age, socioeconomic status, religion, national or ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, citizenship, immigration status, disability status or veteran status
Efforts to reduce discrimination based on minority status, including research regarding the role of such discrimination in mental health problems and their treatment
Each member of the ADRC has pledged a commitment to assist any individual who is the target of discrimination or harassment
