This Study Is Not Currently Recruiting
We are conducting a study to evaluate a Mobile Virtual Reality (MVR) training program, which is an 4-week novel treatment for depression and anxiety. It is based on other valid treatments which are effective in improving symptoms when delivered by trained clinicians. In this study, we are modifying this treatment program to include Virtual Reality experiences.
Eligibility Criteria
You might be eligible to participate in this study if you:
- Are between the ages of 18 and 40
- Are experiencing elevated levels of stress, anxiety or depression
- Are available to come in for assessments 2 times over the course of 4 weeks.
Study Procedures
Eligible individuals will be asked to complete questionnaires about feelings, thoughts and moods, and computer tasks. All participants who complete both pre and post assessments will earn $50.
There are 2 groups:
A delayed treatment group who will be offered the treatment after their post-assessment
A treatment group who will receive the VR treatment starting at the first assessment
Participants randomized into the treatment condition will also complete an 4 week program in which aims to treat some of the symptoms of depression, stress and anxiety. Participants who do not complete the 4 week treatment will be offered the Mobile Virtual Reality treatment once their 2 assessments have been completed.
